This project will route truck and automobile traffic away from the downtown area by widening South Wenas Road to three lanes and extending it south to connect into the signalized intersection at South First Street and East Fifth Avenue. Traffic signals will be installed at the intersection of Naches Avenue and Wenas Road, and at the intersection of North Wenas Road and Fremont Avenue. These new traffic signals will help to relieve traffic congestion and make the route safer for pedestrians. Railroad Avenue will be resurfaced with concrete to accommodate the heavy truck traffic on the roadway.
