The existing Ebey Slough Bridge will close to traffic permanently on Friday, April 13 at 8 p.m. Beginning at 5 a.m. Monday, April 16, both directions of SR 529 traffic will be switched to the east side of the new bridge. Traffic will remain on the east side of the new bridge until late 2013 while crews dismantle and remove the old bridge. At that time the new bridge will fully open, with two lanes of traffic in each direction.
We will replace the existing two-lane Ebey Slough Bridge with a wider, four-lane bridge with sidewalks and a bike lane. We will also build an enclosed storm sewer system for roadway runoff, retaining walls, and wetland protection and restoration features
