Construction work on the center pier of the new Snohomish River Bridge will close both directions of SR 522 between Fales/Echo Lake roads and 164th Street Southeast from 12:01 to 4 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 13. During the closure, contractor crews will remove equipment and machinery from the bridge pier. The only way to reach the pier is to place a large crane on SR 522, blocking all lanes.
Drivers should plan on extra travel time. The detour will take drivers around the closure via US 2 and SR 9. It will add about ten miles and 20 minutes to most trips, depending on traffic.
