State Route 522 (SR 522) is an important east-west route that runs from I-5 in Seattle to US 2 in Monroe. SR 522 runs through King and Snohomish counties. Dramatic growth in communities along this corridor and further east has increased traffic congestion and accident rates on this overburdened highway.
Reader's Digest warned drivers in November 2000 that the 10 mile stretch of SR 522 between Woodinville and Monroe was among America's most dangerous highways.
