Current News

The new floating bridge's bicycle / pedestrian path is now open as an out-and-back trail from Medina. Read more about the path's July 22 opening or check out our Bicycle and Pedestrian Connections webpage for more information about riding and walking the SR 520 corridor.

Pontoons from the old SR 520 floating bridge are floating away. Read about it in this blog post. More on removal of the old bridge can be found in our decommissioning folio and a July 14 presentation. You can also read a brief update or detailed report of bridge-removal activities, or comb through a comprehensive, updated list of the project's many environmental reports and permits.

Did you miss our June 28 open house?

Program Overview

The SR 520 Bridge Replacement and HOV Program is enhancing public safety and mobility by replacing the highway's aging, vulnerable bridges and making significant transit and roadway improvements throughout the corridor. The construction program's planned improvements extend from I-5 in Seattle to I-405 in Bellevue.
