Quarterly Project Report Update for Quarter Ending June 2007

Project Title & Location
SR 518-Sea-Tac airport to I-5/I-405 interchange, in Tukwila

Project Description
This project provides improvement of SR 518 by widening lanes and shoulders; widening a bridge; building retaining and noise walls; removing and replacing sign bridges; installing bridge rail; concrete barrier; guardrail; drainage items, and installing water quality systems. The SR 518 Westbound transition from freeway to city streets will be planted.

Contractor/Consultant
Consultants working on the SR 518 project include; Parsons Brinkerhoff, EnviroIssues, HWA, Lin & Associates, Heidi Stramm, The Resource Group, DEA Engineers, Herrera and Geoff Baillie and Associates.

Recent Progress
All permits obtained and agreements signed. Project went to Ad with bid opening June 13, 2007.

Design Construction Impacts
Construction is anticipated to start summer of 2007 and be completed late 2008

Environmental Impacts / Compliance
Three noise walls are being constructed, 1 acre of wetland impacts being mitigated with credits from the Springbrook wetland bank, Gilliam Creek impacts being mitigated on site with stream realignment and enhancements.

Impacts to Traffic
When completed the SR 518 project will reduce congestion on eastbound SR 518 and the North Airport Expressway and eliminate the difficult merge from the North Airport Expressway and SR 99 to eastbound SR 518.
