Two bridges on SR 509 near Dash Point Park were cleaned and repainted to preserve the structures and extend the lifespan of the bridges.
We cleaned and painted the Hoit and Joes Creek Bridges in Federal Way on SR509 near Dash Point State Park. These bridges were last resurfaced over 10 years ago. Cleaning and painting the bridges will help preserve them for another 10 years.

On April 29, there was a small diesel spill at Dash Point State Park in Federal Way. As much as 300 gallons were spilled from a tank located in a park parking lot in a constuction staging area.
Dash Point State Park was closed for over a week as contractor Long Painting Company worked to contain and clean up the spill with the help of NRC Environmental Services.
Dash Point State Park reopened to visitors on May 8, 2010 at 8 a.m.
