Quarterly Project Report Update for Quarter Ending December 2007

Project Title & Location
SR 503/Lewisville Park Vic - Add Climbing Lane

Project Description
The 2.4 mile section of SR 503 from NW Onsdorff Boulevard to NE 132nd Avenue experiences back-ups due to high truck volumes and steep grades. By constructing a truck climbing lane, the project will reduce back-ups on this section of SR 503, increasing the flow of traffic.

Recent Progress
The 30% Plans were submitted in August 2007; 60% Plans will be submitted in late January 2008.  Environmental documentation is in process and expected to be complete in February 2008.  The Draft Geotech Report has been reviewed and is being revised based on WSDOT comments.

A Corridor Analysis was completed, and other design documentation is in process or development.

The only Right of Way required is for the wetland mitigation site, and that appraisal process is beginning.

Design Construction Impacts
Climbing lanes are being developed for both the northbound and southbound directions.  The only right of way needed is for wetland mitigation.

Environmental Impacts / Compliance
The environmental documentation is in process.  The Biological Assessment is ongoing along with the cultural and archeological investigation; additional archeological investigation was required at SR 503/244th due to some cultural discoveries.  Wetland impacts have been determined, and we are beginning the process of developing a plan for a mitigation site.

Impacts to Traffic
