Quarterly Project Report Update for Quarter Ending June 2008

Project Title & Location
I-5 / SR 502 Interchange

Project Description
This new interchange, connecting I-5 to State Route 502, will reduce congestion, improve safety and provide more direct access from Interstate 5 to north Clark County and Battle Ground.

Contractor/Consultant
The contract was awarded to Kerr Contractors, Inc. of Woodburn, OR, on February 16, 2007.

Recent Progress
Construction remains on schedule, as crews continue construction of the bridge over I-5. Progress is also being made on installing Intelligent Transportaion System (ITS) components within the project area. Asphalt concrete paving is scheduled to restart in June and will continue throughout the summer. The project is on schedule for its 2009 completion date.

Design Construction Impacts

Environmental Impacts / Compliance
Approximately 20 acres of new wetland will be created to satisfy environmental permitting requirements for the project. A fish passage barrier has been replaced with a new culvert that is fish passable.

Impacts to Traffic
There have been daily single lane closures of the left lane of I-5 NB for access into the median for bridge construction. An access road has been constructed in the median in order to eliminate all I-5 SB left lane closures. The speed limit on I-5 has been lowered to 60 mph for the duration of the project.
