Recent Progress

This project is in the Preliminary Engineering and Environmental Assessment phase.  The new interchange configuration is now a partial clover leaf.   In February, the interchange design was modified slightly to incorporate a new loop ramp to I-5 northbound.  A Findings and Order Document is being developed to address the comments recieved at the Access Hearing and  there will be a public review period for this document this summer.  Geotechnical drilling is complete and a geotechnical report is being prepared.  The bridge design for this project is continuing.

Design Construction Impacts

Right of way acquisition, geotechnical uncertainty and storm water treatment have been identified as potential risk items. The project team is developing a risk management plan to minimize impacts to the scope, schedule and budget.

Environmental Impacts / Compliance
Parsons, Brinkerhoff, Quade & Douglas, a consultant to WSDOT, is finishing the technical reports and preparing the evironmental assessment.
