I-5 / SR 502 Interchange

Project Description
This new interchange, connecting I-5 to State Route 502, will reduce congestion, improve safety and provide more direct access from Interstate 5 to north Clark County and Battle Ground.

Project is not yet advertised or awarded.

Recent Progress

This project is in the Preliminary Engineering and Environmental Assessment phase.  Environmental discipline reports are currently being reviewed prior to submitting the Environmental Assessment.  Access plans are being prepared for a spring 2005 Access Hearing.  Bridge site data has been submitted to the Bridge and Structure Office.  A meeting was held with local property owners on November 16, 2004 to discuss the Right of Way acquisition process.

Design Construction Impacts

Right of way acquisition, geotechnical uncertainty and storm water treatment have been identified as potential risk items. The project team is developing a risk management plan to minimize impacts to the scope, schedule and budget.

Environmental Impacts / Compliance
Parsons, Brinkerhoff, Quade & Douglas, a consultant to WSDOT, has begun the environmental documentation process.

No impacts during design.
