Recent Progress

This project is currently in the early design phase. A public meeting was held on October 21, 2003, and the formal Environmental Assessment scoping comment period ended on November 21, 2003. A Value Engineering study was performed in December 2003. Traffic, design and environmental technical reports are currently being completed in order to proceed with the screening, evaluation and selection of a preferred alternative in early 2004.

Design Construction Impacts

Right of way acquisition, geotechnical uncertainty and storm water treatment have been identified as potential risk items. The project team is developing a risk management plan to minimize impacts to the scope, schedule and budget.

Environmental Impacts / Compliance
Parsons, Brinkerhoff, Quade & Douglas, a consultant to WSDOT, has begun the environmental documentation process.
