Project Title & Location
SR 4 and SR 401 - Roadside Safety Improvements

Project Description
To reduce collisions where motorists have driven off the roadway, SR 4 and SR 401 will be improved with new guardrail, removal of fixed objects, and improvement of roadsides. By installing guardrail and removing fixed objects, the project will reduce the severity of run-off-the highway collisions.

Contractor/Consultant
OTAK performed preliminary alternatives assessment to identify, analyze, and recommend locations for safety improvements. 

Recent Progress
Design approval has been obtained. 

Work continues in the design phase with the development of the plans, specifications, and estimate. The project team is also currently working to mitigate possible utility conflicts,

The project team has recently completed a 60% PS&E and Constructability review of this project.

Design Construction Impacts
There are no impacts at this time.

Environmental Impacts / Compliance
The Environmental Review Summary is completed.  The Biological Assessment is being developed.

Impacts to Traffic
During construction there will be intermittent daytime single lane closures with flaggers.
