Project Description
The proposed Belfair Bypass solves both the immediate and long-range transportation safety and mobility needs of the SR 3 corridor in northeast Mason County.

Skillings-Connolly, Inc. Consulting Engineers

Recent Progress

The project office has completed an agreement with our consultant, Skillings-Connley, to update the Environmental Assessment that was initially developed by Mason County.  Now that this has begun, the WSDOT design team has been analyzing the alignment proposed by Mason County and have found that it does not meet WSDOT standards.  The design team will continue to analyze this and will be proposing alternative alignments to consider for environmental impacts. 

The project office is beginning plans for a public open house by December of this year to discuss the project

Will be evaluated and determined as a result of environmental studies and preliminary design.

Impacts to Traffic

This project to construct a new corridor will not cause impact to existing roads.  It is Mason County and WSDOT's goal to complete this new road before sewer and widening work in the Belfair Urban area begins.
