SR 290 - Spokane River East Trent Bridge

Status

Fall 2017

  • Preliminary bridge design is underway.

This bridge crosses the Spokane River just east of Hamilton Street in east Spokane.  The roadway surface, bridge rail, and piers require continuing extensive maintenance and repairs.

The City of Spokane has an adjacent project: Martin Luther King Way/Riverside Drive

Why is WSDOT replacing this bridge?
This structure has been in service since 1910 and is well beyond its useful life.

The End Result
The project replaces the existing bridge with a new structure.

Project Benefits
The new structure will meet all current design and safety standards.

What is the project timeline?
Design work is underway.  The project is expected to be advertised for construction bids in Fall 2018 with work starting in 2019.
