Quarterly Project Report Update for Quarter Ending June 2007

Project Title & Location
SR 285/George Sellar Bridge-Additional EB Lane

Project Description
This project adds an additional eastbound lane to the George Sellar Bridge by removing the existing sidewalks. Pedestrian movements will be addressed by providing alternative access across the bridge.

Contractor/Consultant
Project not yet advertised or awarded.

Recent Progress
The design team is currently assembling the bridge site data package and finalizing the design.

Design Construction Impacts
We are currently investigating the staging requirements between this project and the projects at either end of the bridge.  This project will likely be a two season project.

Environmental Impacts / Compliance
The Sellar Bridge is on the national historic register.  A 4f style process at the State level will be required for bridge truss modifications to allow for sufficient vertical clearance.  A hydraulics permit and shorelines permit will also be required.

Impacts to Traffic
This project will heavily impact commuter traffic.  Construction staging will utilize night time work windows in order to minimize traffic impacts.
