Rattlesnake Hills Vic.-Roadside Safety

Project Description
This project improves 14 miles of SR 241 from just north of Sunnyside (MP 10) and continuing north to near the junction with SR 24 (MP 24). The project will realign two s-curves just south of the SR 241/SR 24 junction and update guardrail and signing throughout the project limits.

Project not yet advertised or awarded.

Recent Progress
This project is funded through construction by the 2005 Transportation Partnership Account.  The roadway design work continues.  Federal Bureau of Land Management permitting isses have delayed the advertisement date to October 8, 2007.

Design Construction Impacts
WSDOT will need to acquire land  from two parcels for the new allignment.  Blasting will also be required to remove the rock for the new alignment. 

Environmental Impacts / Compliance

The Biological Assessment, SEPA-Determination of Non-Significance, Cultural Resource Study and the Botanical Plant Survey Report are all completed.  Other required documentation is the NEPA-Documented CE.

Impacts to Traffic
This project will be staged to minimize impacts to traffic.  One lane flagger contolled traffic will be utilized as necessary.
