SR 24, I-82 to Keys Road - Yakima River Bridge Photos

The new four lane bridge over the Yakima River is being constructed just south of the existing bridge. When traffic is moved to the new bridge and lanes, the existing bridge will be demolished.

All girders have been set on the new Yakima River Bridge

July 2006 - WSDOT and Kuney Construction reached a major milestone as the final girder was set on the new Yakima River Bridge. A total of 117 girders were set on this bridge with no mishaps.

The final girder is being set on the SR 24 Yakima River Bridge

June 2006 - Placement of one span of beams remains on the new SR 24 Yakima River Bridge. The contractor has poured concrete on the first section of the new roadway surface, and will continue pouring additional sections this month.

All bridge girders are set in place

May 2006 - All bridge girders are set in place as crews anticipate concrete deck pours beginning within a month.
