SR 20 - Wauconda Summit East Pavement Repair - Complete August 2010

Status

Complete August 2010

Construction began Aug. 9 and was complete on Aug. 25, 2010.

This Preservation Program project rehabilitated sections of failing pavement on SR 20, from the Wauconda summit east.  The project upgraded the structural integrity and extends the life of the pavement.

Why is WSDOT repairing this roadway?
This project preserves the pavement as well as repairing the existing pavement that was failing. 

The End Result
A smoother ride. upgraded safetu features and reduced maintenance costs.

Project Benefits
Extends the life of the road surface, providing a smoother ride and new, more visible striping.

What is the project timeline?
Construction began Aug. 9 and was complete on Aug.25, 2010.

Financial Information

Project signage will reflect the cost of construction engineering, project bid award and sales tax.

On July 8, 2010, two qualified bids were opened and on July 9th, Contract #7978 was awarded to Granite Northwest, Inc. for $711,117, 25% below the engineering estimate.

This project was funded through the following sources:

  • Pre-Existing Gas Tax - $0.9 million
  • Total funding from all sources - $0.9 million
