The proposed guardrail design maintains as many of the character
defining features as possible of the existing guardrail while still retaining
the ability to pass crash tests. The design retains the first five of 10
character-defining features: Rock and mortar bollard construction;
bollard shape (batter, shoulders, approx. dimensions), ability to see over
and under the rail; logs are wood; and bollard spacing along the highway.
