Recent Progress

Public Open House #1 was held in March 2005.  Preliminary environmental and geotechnical investigations of the project area have been completed.   Coordination with stakeholders and resource agencies are continuing.

As the design of this project has progressed it has become apparent that the I-90/SR 18 interchange should be the first section constructed in the remaining corridor.   A proposal to refine the scope of the project so that more emphasis is placed on the I-90/SR 18 interchange has been sent to the Legislature for approval.  This scope modification will involve completing the preliminary design and right of way plan for the interchange improvements.  The project will then be further advanced when funding becomes available. This proposal has been approved by the Transportation Commission and is awaiting final legislative approval.
