Construction noise on SR 169 could affect nearby residents. At any time during the project residents may hear pavement-breaking machines, grinding machines, truck back-up alarms, and work crews entering and exiting the work zone.
We will do our best to minimize nighttime noise.
To minimize noise at night, crews will:
- Use flaggers to direct traffic around the work zone.
- Use noise reducing truck-bed liners, and ambient-sensitive truck back-up warning devices instead of loud alarms.
- Use portable noise shields to help reduce noise at the source, when possible.
- Provide free earplugs. We can send you earplugs in the mail or you can pick up a pair at Maple Valley's City Hall, 22035 SE Wax Road.
