Recent Progress

Considered three scenarios:  One lane in each direction with minimal interchange improvements; bottleneck improvement projects; and HOV lane completion. Given the Regional Transportation Investment District (RTID) budget of $500M we focused on bottleneck improvement projects between S 180th in Renton to S 84th in Kent, SR 516 to S 277th and completion of the HOV system on SR 167 in King County.

Started development of Watershed Characterization to identify potential wetland mitigation sites.

WSDOT staff identified potential increase of wetland buffer requirements proposed by DOE, the Army Corp of Engineers and growth management regulations.  WSDOT staff has been working with local jurisdictions to update wetland information.  We uncovered that King County wetland data is nearly 20 years old.
