15th St. SW to S. 180th St. Stage 3: HOV Lanes--Auburn to Renton

Project Description
This project reduces congestion by adding a northbound high occupancy vehicle lane and adding ramp meters and high occupancy vehicle bypass lanes at several interchanges.

Contractor/Consultant
Project is currently being advertised.

Recent Progress

This project is currently being advertised for bids.  The bid opening is scheduled for March 8, 2006.

Due to recent significant increases in construction and material costs, the project was advertised with the 84th Ave. I/C as alternate work to be included or deleted based on the bid results.

Design Construction Impacts

The 84th Ave. I/C ramp work may or may not be included depending on the bid results and available funding.

Environmental Impacts / Compliance

Environmental documentation is complete and permits have been obtained.  All environmental impacts will be mitigated as part of this project.

Impacts to Traffic
The project will improve the efficiency of the general purpose and HOV lanes.  Construction will require lane closures at times during non-peak hours.  Public outreach will be conducted.
