Recent Progress

Project recently assigned.  Design work will begin Fall 2005, developing project management plan, project milestones, deliverables and schedule, to deliver this project for Advertisement in November 2007.

Design Construction Impacts

Project Team preparing to develop management plan and project delivery schedule, to identify critical deliverables, task relations and assignments.  An environmental document will be planned out early in the process in order to obtain permits by advertisement.

Environmental Impacts / Compliance

Value Engineering Study recommends tight diamond interchange due in part to wetlands in proximity on all four quadrants.  Designs will minimize or avoid wetland impacts. An environmental document will be prepared, and, if unavoidable, impacts and mitigation will be identified.

Impacts to Traffic

Building the needed interchange over the top of the cross road will impact travelers accustomed to this at-grade access with SR 16. Project Team will look to develop ways to optimize construction, while minimizing traffic impacts.  Local roadway system offers practical detour options that will likely be needed for alternate travel routes.
