SR 16 - Burley Olalla Interchange

Project Description
Constructs a new grade-separated interchange on SR 16 at Burley-Olalla Road to improve safety at this high accident location.

Project not advertised or awarded.

Recent Progress
Hydraulic design complete, Hydraulic Report to be submitted December 19, 2007.  Public comment period of Joint Public Notice for environmental permits ended on Sepember 19, 2007.  Conservation Easement Agreement finalized and has been sent to obtain signatures. 

Design Construction Impacts
Two fish barriers will be removed and remediated to new fish passable structures.

Environmental Impacts / Compliance
Two fish barriers are being remediated.  Cultural resource study completed for project limits.  All required permits have been applied for.

Impacts to Traffic

Four lanes of SR 16 will be provided throughout the duration of the project.  Traffic speeds through the area will be reduced to 40 MPH.  With the exception of Emergency Vehicles, access at Burley Olalla Road, to and from SR 16 is anticipated to be closed for the duration of the project.
