Quarterly Project Report Update for Quarter Ending June 2008

Project Title & Location
SR 14/Camas Washougal - Add Lanes and Build Interchange

Project Description
Widen SR 14 to four lanes from the east end of the West Camas Slough Bridge to Union St, and construct a new split diamond interchange at Union St and 2nd St. This project will improve safety and capacity by eliminating conflicting movements and queuing at intersections, and separating traffic with median barrier.

Contractor/Consultant
Skillings-Connolly Inc. for environmental reports.

Recent Progress
The project team is preparing the environmental documentation with an anticipated completion in 2009. A CRA update was recently completed and the project team is working to evaluate the findings and develop a plan to move forward.

Design Construction Impacts
The design team is in the preliminary phase of construction staging and traffic control design. They will work to minimize traffic impacts to SR 14 and city streets as much as possible.

Environmental Impacts / Compliance
Major work activities associated with environmental documentation are anticipated to be completed in 2009.  The Biological Assessment with formal consultation has been submitted.   

Impacts to Traffic
The design team is currently assessing these impacts. The team will minimize impacts as much as possible.
