Project Description
This project is the state's contribution to a partnership project that replaces a fish barrier culvert with a bridge.

Recent Progress
This project, located on the Skokomish Indian Reservation, is a cooperative effort between the Hood Canal Salmon Enhancement Group (HCSEG), the Skokomish Tribal Nation and the Washington State Department of Transportation. The project roadway and bridge construction is complete. Only minor cleanup work remains. SR 106 was re-opened to traffic Dec. 15, 2005. In an independent effort the Skokomish Tribal Nation and WSDOT will begin landscaping the site in January 2006.

Design Construction Impacts
The construction phase of the project is being administered by WSDOT.

Environmental Impacts / Compliance
Creek restoration work in the Skobob Creek channel was completed within the permitted time frame. This requirement ensured that migrating fish would not be impacted by construction of the project. Temporary erosion, sediment, and spill control measures are included in the project.

Impacts to Traffic
SR 106 in the vicinity of the Skobob Creek crossing may have single lane alternating flagged traffic control to facilitate cleanup and repair work.
