Drilled Shaft Work: Shafts were prepared for being vibrated down into place.  November 2004.  
Vibrating Shaft Can
Vibrating Shaft Can:  The shafts were vibrated down 45-100 feet below the canal floor.  Then, the concrete piers that will hold the new approach spans were set into the shafts. November 2004.  
Cage Assembly
Cage Assembly:  The epoxy-coated reinforced steel for each pier column was constructed before being placed into the shaft cans. November 2004.
