Lower Wall Complete. Concrete lower wall pour is complete for second of six new 46-foot diameter anchors being built during first cycle of anchor construction. December 2006.
Hawse Pipe. Crews install metal Hawse pipe inside a 56-foot diameter anchor. An anchor cable will descend from the pontoons on the bridge, be fitted through this pipe and connect back to the pontoons. December 2006.
Anchor Cable Entry. Workers assemble rebar for upper wall on one of six 46-foot anchors. On right side of anchor is the anchor cable entry point. Anchor cables encircle the anchors and connect back to the pontoon to keep the bridge secure. December 2006.
