To address the immediate threat of mudslides, BNSF and WSDOT are implementing low cost, high benefit work in select locations along the corridor to help reduce the potential for mudslides. This work includes preventative drainage maintenance, cleaning culverts, and debris removal.

Crews work to stabilize bluffs and reduce the slope.
Stabilization projects reduce the angle of slopes and help prevent future landslides.
