Short Haul Intermodal Pilot Project, Quincy (WA120)

Project Description
This project will complete the construction of a transload facility where trucks and containers can be loaded on and off railcars for movement to Puget Sound ports.

Recent Progress

WSDOT, the Port of Quincy, and the Port's contractor negotiated changes to the grant based on changed circumstances.  The changes were approved by the Federal Railroad Administration in late June 2006.  Grant implementation is expected to begin in July or August 2006.

Design Construction Impacts
This project installs equipment necessary for operation of the transload facility, and provides some start up costs. 

Environmental Impacts / Compliance
No environmental impacts are foreseen at this time.

Impacts to Traffic
Occasional truck access to Port of Quincy property from local roads.
