Project Facts
- This project will create new jobs in Quincy, such as crane lift operators and gate clerks.
- The project will also provide opportunities for local truckers to haul trailers and containers from packing houses to the transload facility.
- The facility includes a 400-acre staging area for trains and trucks to transload their cargos, including double-stack train staging tracks, paving, fencing, lighting, and security.

The Port has asked WSDOT and the FRA to make a change to the project scope to enable construction of a washout facility. The FRA has approved the change of project scope and extended the project timeline through November 2009.

contributing funds to this intermodal pilot project at the Port of Quincy?
This project provides funds to the Port of Quincy to support further development of its new transload facility.
The End Result
This project will complete the construction of a transload facility where trucks and containers can be loaded on and off railcars for movement to Puget Sound ports.
With this investment, the Quincy Inland Intermodal Industrial Park will be fully operational, providing Quincy-area exporters and perishable shippers additional shipping options and capacity to reach their markets.

What is the project timeline?
Project funds will be used to purchase equipment, including a container lift and a forklift, and for start-up costs between January 2006 and November 2009.

Increasing safety is one of our priorities
Work will be done in conformance to American Railway Engineering Maintenance-of-Way Association (AREMA) and BNSF Railway track standards to help ensure the safe operation of trains.
