Recent Progress

Rail Logistics, LLC, was selected in February 2006 to provide the services needed to fulfill the intent of the federal funds and the State statute implementingn the program.  The company provided a proposed lease of rail cars and a proposed management contract in May 2006.  The proposals were reviewed by WSDOT and its consultants, and negotiations continue to finalize the lease and contract.  Rail Logistics, LLC has already positioned 10 refrigerated rail cars in the State, and is shipping product on its own initiative.  The number of rail cars will increase when the contracts are signed and the peak shipping season (August to December) begins.
