Tenino - High Speed Crossovers, Tenino

Project Description
Constructs universal high speed (50 mph) crossovers near Tenino. The is part of the capacity improvements to support the 5th Amtrak Cascades round trip.

Contractor/Consultant
BNSF Railway, Forth Worth, TX

Recent Progress
The task order for preliminary and final engineering and envirnomental activities was signed.  A draft of the preliminary engineering plans have been submitted to WSDOT for review.


Design Construction Impacts
None.

Environmental Impacts / Compliance
Preliminary engineering will address any environmental impacts.

Impacts to Traffic
There may be some brief work windows that may affect rail operations for both freight and passenger trains as new track and switches are connected to the existing track.  Amtrak Cascades passengers may occasionally be moved by motor coach to allow for these work windows.
