Currently train speeds are kept low in the Everett area due to numerous sharp curves. This illustration shows a realignment of the curves that will allow passenger and freight trains to increase speed through this area. Warning devices at the Pacific Avenue and Chestnut Street crossing and the Railroad Avenue crossing will be upgraded during the project, increasing safety for drivers and pedestrians.
