SEATTLE – A record 636,892 passengers rode Amtrak Cascades during
2005 - a 5.6 percent ridership increase over 2004. The overall increase in Amtrak Cascades ridership is largely attributable to a strong economy, rising gas prices and good service delivery.
Amtrak Cascades continues to rank near the top of Amtrak's 42-route national system for customer satisfaction. Passengers greatly enjoy onboard movies, plug-ins for laptop computers, beautiful scenery and the space to get up and move around.
Regular one-way adult fares between Seattle and Vancouver, British Columbia or Portland and Seattle start as low as $26, or Eugene and Portland as low as $20. An upgrade to Business Class costs only a few dollars more each way and provides wider seats, more legroom and priority boarding. Passengers are encouraged to purchase tickets early to obtain lowest fares. Reservations are required.
