Recent Progress
As previously reported, in August the bids for the ramp removal and new retaining wall came in within budget. This phase of construction is underway and is anticipated to be completed in February 2007.
In October, WSDOT and Sound Transit signed an agreement for Sound Transit to direct BNSF in the design of the track and signal work that includes WSDOT project improvements. Sound Transit will direct BNSF construction for both WSDOT and Sound Transit improvements. Negotiations for a separate construction contract between WSDOT and Sound Transit will be completed in April 2007.

Design Construction Impacts
Old I-90 off ramp will be removed to make way for new track in order for the main line to be relocated.

Environmental issues have not been identified at this time.

Impacts to Traffic
Temporary shoulder closures may occur on the I-90 off ramp to 4th Avenue. The project may impact freight and passenger operations when construction commences.
