Recent Progress
As previously reported, in August the bids for the ramp removal and new retaining wall came in within budget. This phase of construction was completed in May 2007.
In October, WSDOT and Sound Transit signed an agreement for Sound Transit to direct BNSF in the design of the track and signal work that includes WSDOT project improvements. Sound Transit will direct BNSF construction for both WSDOT and Sound Transit improvements. Negotiations for a separate construction contract between WSDOT and Sound Transit was completed in April 2007. BNSF began work in February 2007, which included a six week closure of Royal Brougham. The work north and south of Royal Brougham continues.
