Recent Progress

Track construction work south of the station continues to move forward. The BNSF main line track is being relocated approximately 50 feet to the east and preparations for new tracks connecting to the station platforms is underway. These improvements will reduce freight train and passenger train conflicts in the area and allow for more daily passenger trains at the station.

Sound Transit is directing BNSF construction for both WSDOT-funded and Sound Transit-funded improvements near King Street Station, based on funding agreements between the two agencies that were negotiated in October 2006 and April 2007.

Design Construction Impacts
Old I-90 off ramp was removed to make way for new track in order for the main line to be relocated.
