This project includes site selection, facility designs, and environmental clearances for a new transload facility near Airway Heights, WA

Recent Progress
WSDOT is working with Spokane County and other stakeholders to identify the most suitable location for a transload facility near Airway Heights.  Spokane County recently acquired a parcel of land along the Geiger Spur, east of the intersection of Craig Road and west of McFarlane Road.  This location is being reviewed by a transload site evaluation team.  The results of this evaluation will be used by WSDOT, Spokane County, and the city of Airway Heights to make a preliminary site recommendation that will be shared with local decision-makers.

Environmental impacts will be assessed during this phase of the project.

Begin Preliminary Engineering Apr 2008 Engineering will commence once a site has been selected by project stakeholders.  This may not occur until December 2008.
