Southbound I-5 in South Snohomish County
We paved 1.8 miles of rubberized asphalt and polymer-modified asphalt on southbound I-5 in Lynnwood in August 2006.
SR 520 Medina to Bellevue
We have installed a half mile of rubberized quieter pavement, polymer-modified quieter pavement, and regular asphalt on both directions of SR 520 in the Medina, Clyde Hill, Hunts Point, Yarrow Point and Bellevue area.
I-405 through Bellevue
We are testing the quieter pavements as part of the 112th Avenue SE to SE 8th Street project. Additionally, we will use the whisper grinding technique on a strech of southbound I-405 existing concrete from SE 8th to I-90. Construction starts in August 2009.
Quieter Concrete Test Sections
We are testing quieter concrete (pdf 791 kb) on I-90 in Spokane, on I-5 in Federal Way and south of Tukwila, and on I-205 east of Vancouver.
