| USACE or Dept. of Ecology issue Public Notice of Application Receipt

Upon receiving a comprehensive application the State, interstate water pollution control agency, or EPA must issue a public notice to announce that an application for Section 401 Certification has been received.

Publication of notice occurs twice, once each on the same day of the week in two consecutive weeks, in a newspaper of general circulation in the county in which the activity described in the application is located, and in such other counties as deemed appropriate.
