SR 16 - HOV Improvements - Scott Pierson Trail

The Scott Pierson Trail, constructed as part of the SR 16 Union to Jackson project, extends along the SR 16 corridor between Tacoma and Gig Harbor. The five-mile pedestrian and bicycle trail is named in honor of former City of Tacoma landscape architect and urban planner, Scott Pierson (1943-2001).

Pierson strived to advance non-motorized transportation and environmental stewardship in Tacoma and throughout Pierce County. The photos below depict the decorative walls along the trail.
