Recent Progress

Recent progress includes the completion of the Hydraulics Report, which identified right-of-way needs for the project.  This will allow property acquisitions to go ahead on schedule.

The Bridge Office is completing the plans for several bridge widenings on the project and is expected to be finished in January.

Other work is progressing to update the project plans and design so that environmental documentation can begin next year.

Design Construction Impacts

The addition of an HOV bypass lane at the westbound on-ramp to I-5 at 54th Avenue has been added to the scope of the project, this is the result of recent traffic studies since the original design.

Environmental Impacts / Compliance

The Final Hydraulics Report is complete and will soon be sent to Headquarters for approval, this report identified how highway runoff  from this project will be treated.  Acquisition of a wetland mitigation site for this project is in process and should be completed in January.

Impacts to Traffic
Temporary impacts during construction could include narrow lanes along with nighttime lane closures and minor detours at the 54th Avenue Interchange.
