Why is WSDOT
paving this portion of the highway?
In February 2009, President Barack Obama signed into law the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act. WSDOT now stands ready to translate the federal recovery funding into job creation and highway improvements.
The End Result
Drivers will have a smoother driving surface, the roadway will last longer, and overall motorist safety will be improved. The new layer of hot mix asphalt preserves the underlying roadway base, protecting the public’s investment in the transportation system.
