Why is WSDOT
paving this portion of the highway?
In February 2009, President Barack Obama signed into law the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act. WSDOT now stands ready to translate the federal recovery funding into job creation and highway improvements.
The End Result
Drivers will have a safer, smoother driving surface and the roadway will last longer. The new layer of hot mix asphalt preserves the underlying roadway base, protecting the public’s investment in the transportation system.
Project Benefits
- Safety
- Reduced maintenance costs
- A smoother ride
- Jobs in local communities
What is the project timeline?
WSDOT expects to award this job to a contractor this Spring. Work should begin shortly after the award and be completed later in the summer.
