During a typical weekday commute, it takes an average of 20 minutes to travel from Issaquah to Seattle in the morning, and nearly 40 minutes in the afternoon.

60 percent or higher diversion needed
During the expansion joint replacement work, traffic engineers estimate it will take drivers at least one hour to travel between Issaquah and Seattle if 60 percent of commuters divert to alternate routes, use alternate travel modes or stay away.
