  • UPDATE: MAY 24, 2017-Construction schedule revised:  All lanes and ramps open on Memorial Day weekend from noon Friday.  Eastbound lane restrictions resume on Tuesday, May 30.  Eastbound Walnut on-ramp closure also begins May 30 and goes for about 10 days. Westbound work moved to mid-June start.
  • Spokane Freeway Fix Alternate Routes Use this info map to find alternate routes in and out of downtown Spokane.  also, consider transit and car pooling.
  • Eastbound I-90 is reduced to 2 through lanes. The eastbound Altamont off-ramp is closed 24/7 during construction.  The eastbound Altamont on ramp is closed during the afternoon commute, 3 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Bridge expansion joints, concrete approach panels, and bridge deck surface will be repaired on eastbound and westbound Interstate 90 in and near downtown Spokane

Why is WSDOT repairing this highway?
Years of deterioration has resulted in damaged pavement and joints at several locations on I-90. The frequent temporary repairs causes a rough roadway.

The End Result
Smooth pavement at repair locations and eliminate need for frequent repairs.
