We're examining options for screening on top of the barrier along the westbound floating bridge to enhance safety for bicyclists and pedestrians. Below are visualizations of some of these options. These photos are only intended to depict the appearance of the screening options and do not reflect the proposed design of the roadway.
Issues we're considering include:
• headlight glare from oncoming traffic
• wind buffeting
• roadway debris
• view/visibility for drivers on the bridge and bicyclists and pedestrians on the path
• maintenance (including access for bridge inspections)
• access to the path as a refuge for motorists with disabled vehicles
